The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund awarded a $5,000 grant to support the Frederick Douglass Bass Fishing organization, a local nonprofit that provides informational opportunities regarding boating, safety and fishing to area communities. The money will
support the Fayette County Special Needs Fishing Expo where children with special needs will be presented opportunities to participate in outdoor activities.

“We are very honored to be the organization selected to receive this generous grant from the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund. The Frederick Douglass Bass Fishing organization’s mission is to be able to give some pretty neat kids the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities like fishing and boating just like everyone else. Today, thanks to Bass
Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund this mission can become a reality,” said James Lamirande, Frederick Douglass High School Fishing Coach.

Guided by the visionary leadership of Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris, the Outdoor Fund empowers Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s 200 million annual customers to support conservation efforts by rounding up their purchases.
