The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation has completed renovations to its second floor waiting room, adjacent to the Cardio Thoracic Vascular Unit, in honor of two patients who had lifesaving surgeries at the hospital and other generous donors.

A ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Hospital Lobby to celebrate the renovations being complete. Donors will be in attendance for the ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony at Saint Joseph Hospital, located at 1 Saint Joseph Drive. Members of the media will be given a tour of the renovated waiting room following the dedication.

In 2017, Saint Joseph Hospital completed a major renovation to the Wilma Thornton Cardio Thoracic Vascular Unit at Saint Joseph Hospital, which included major facelifts for 22 patient rooms to provide a more peaceful environment and upgrades throughout the nurses’ work stations and common areas. The CTVU Suite is designed to help patients with heart, lung and vascular illnesses.

Now, through a gift from the family of Bob and the late Bonnie Hall, waiting room renovations are complete. Both Bob and Bonnie Hall received lifesaving surgeries at Saint Joseph Hospital, their daughter Julia said, “and blessings abounded because of their outcomes.”

“The Halls embody genuine hospitality and have left a lasting impact on both our community and Saint Joseph Hospital,” said Leslie Buddeke Smart, CFRE, president, Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation. “We cannot thank the Hall family enough for this generous gift, which will help our waiting room feel like home to so many others who turn to our hospital for lifesaving procedures.”

In addition to the gift from the Halls, the waiting room renovation was made possible through proceeds from the 2017 Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament, 2017 STARS Gala, and donations from Michelle Abrams, Barbara Baumgardner, Mallory Brinkhorst, Tracy Colon, Yvonne Edge, Allyson Foster, Neva Francis, Tracy Francis, Helen Hamilton, Spencer Hammond, Kristin Howard, Jay Ingle, Vicki Moore, Shannon Schaeffer, Ellen Stotts and Gregory Yeary.
