Major Hamburg Health News
A new medical facility, Baptist Health Lexington, is coming to Hamburg on Polo Club Blvd. by Costco. The space will become a campus with long-term plans of a multi-story hospital, a surgery center, 12 other buildings containing a combination of retail and medical office space, and two parking garages. The Urban County Council gave their initial approval for this plan earlier last month and construction is planned to begin in 2020.
Updated Hospital Visitation Restrictions
Lexington hospitals have eased their visitation restrictions and will allow one visitor per patient as they expand the number of non-emergent and non-urgent procedures. The new visitation restrictions affect Baptist Health Lexington, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Saint Joseph East, Saint Joseph Hospital, UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital and UK Good Samaritan Hospital. They will still require screening at all entrances and for anyone entering the building to wear a face mask. Anyone with a fever, cough, runny nose, or body aches is asked to not visit the hospital. Patients and visitors are asked to limit the number of personal items in the hospital to reduce the number of germs taken home. Visitors are asked to leave the hospital when their visit is over and not spend time in public areas, such as lobbies, waiting areas, cafeterias and vending areas.
