OPENINGS

Boonedogs, a new restaurant serving hot dogs and artisan sausages, is opening on Old Richmond Road.

Buff City Soap opened in Hamburg.

Joella’s Hot Chicken plans to open a second Lexington location on Sir Barton Way in the former Blaze Pizza.

Tudor’s Biscuit World is coming to the neighborhood, opening in October on New Circle.

Texas Roadhouse is nearing completion of its new location on Richmond Road in the former Walmart parking lot. The restaurant will leave its original home on Richmond Road to relocate directly across the street.

CLOSINGS

Stein Mart has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to close all of its stores, including Lexington’s Woodhill location on New Circle.

Pier 1 Imports is relaunching online under new ownership and will become an online-only store.

Churchill McGee was named the 2020 Small Business of the Year at the Salute to Small Business virtual celebration in September. Commerce Lexington Inc. recognized their Salute to Small Business Category Award winners during a week-long digital experience.

The Minority Business Award 2020 winner is Elaine Allen, LLC.

The Business Success Award 2020 winner is Churchill McGee.

The Entrepreneur Award 2020 winner is AU Associates, Inc.

The Nonprofit Community Impact Award 2020 winner is CASA of Lexington.
