The Goat
Idle Hour Park took part in the city’s creative initiative to keep its area clean with the help of the Lexington Parks and Recreation and some goats. The goats have become so effective that Lexington Parks and Recreation has recently won a KY Excel Beacon Award for their pilot project. The animals were able to help clear over a two acre area with thick brush and invasive plants.
Liberty Road Widening
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet held a meeting for members of the community that live near Liberty Road that discussed the widening of Liberty Road from Graftons Mill Road to New Circle.
Yoga at Grassroots Pharmacy
Bring a mat and a friend to Grassroots Pharmacy for “Yoga on the Patio,” starting May 1st. Yoga is every Wednesday at 9 am and Friday at 5:30 pm. Participants can enjoy a delicious smoothie afterwards for half off.
Taspen’s Opening
Taspen’s Organics is opening in May in the French Quarter at Richmond Road and New Circle, in the same shopping center as Panera.
Wine and Dine
Costco will be selling the Vinotemp Designer Series 300 Bottle Wine Fridge. Not only will it hold 300 bottles of wine, it has a dual zone wine bottle cooler that works to keep both red and white grape wines at the perfect temperature.
Brenda Cowan Elementary School
The Brenda Cowan Elementary School community meeting is on Tuesday, May 21 at 5 pm at Crossroads Church.
LaRosa’s Pizza Opening Soon
LaRosa’s Pizzeria has announced the first Lexington location on Richmond Road plans to open in mid May. It will be located in the First Watch building, next door to Skyline on Richmond Road.
New Developments for Andover Golf Course
Anderson Communities, a Lexington Developer, has filed an application for
a zoning change for the club house and driving range at Andover Golf Course. The plan proposed is to build a restaurant and construct 88 townhouses on the 19 acre golf course.
