Pet: older dog walking towards the cameraMutt Strutt
The Lexington Humane Society held their annual Mutt Strut last month to raise money for the shelter. They received over $44,000 and every penny goes straight to the animals.

Check Me Out
The Lexington Humane Society has introduced a new program called Check Me Out. Volunteers can take an adopt- able dog to the dog park or for a walk. This program is available Monday- Friday from 12:30 pm until 5 pm.

Earl to the Rescue
Pet: a dog with a red bandana surrounded by bourbon barrelsThe Kentucky Humane Society and Early Times Kentucky Whisky are working together to train Earl, a 1-year old male rescue puppy who will be- come a service canine. Early Times has a long standing partnership with K9s For Warriors, a nonprofit organization that is committed to training service canines for military veterans.
