NOW THROUGH DECEMBER

Every Saturday in December until Christmas, Shaker Village hosts Illuminated Evenings with twinkling lights, holiday music, and an appearance by Mrs. Claus. December 5, 12, and 19 feature different performers, programs and tours.

Mt. McKinley Lights is a computer controlled animated light display synchronized to holiday tunes operating nightly from 5 pm to 11 pm through New Year’s Eve.

Take a safe, free photo with Santa at Cabela’s in Hamburg through December 24.

Visit Santa at Fayette Mall through Thursday, December 24.

Free pet pictures with Santa at Southern Barker on Sundays throughout December at 1 pm. Be sure to bring a camera!

Drive through the Kentucky Horse Park and experience the Southern Lights until December 31.

Tuesday, December 1

Christmas Tea is happening at Waveland State Historic Site on Tuesday, December 1 at 2 pm. Waveland hosts Christmas Tea through Saturday, December 19.

Friday, December 4

Aviation Museum of Kentucky serves as an official drop-off site for the 2020 Toys for Tots campaign. A new unwrapped toy will earn free admission to the museum through December 4, 2020. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday at Blue Grass Airport.

Saturday, December 5

Lexington Theatre Company & Ouita Michel present Behind the Curtain: White Christmas, happening virtually on Saturday, December 5.

Sunday, December 6

Hamburg Pavilion hosts a Toy Drive to benefit the families at GreenHouse 17 on Sunday, December 6, 13 and 20 from 1 pm until 3:30 pm. Toy Drive is located at Hamburg Pavilion’s Gazebo (between Ted’s Montana Grill and Victoria’s Secret).

Monday, December 7

Lexington Senior Center celebrates the holiday season with a Cruise & Schmooze on Friday, December 4 at 11 am.

Thursday, December 10

Richmond Place Senior Living hosts a Christmas Candy Drive-thru on Thursday, December 10 from 4 pm to 6 pm. Call 859-300-9343 to RSVP.

Friday, December 11

The Nest in Lexington hosts its annual Reindeer Express toy drive in December. Volunteers can sign up to pre-make gift bags to hand out during a drive-thru pick up event on Friday, December 11.

Saturday, December 12
2019 Operation Military Cheer

BIA’s annual Operation Military Cheer toy drive is collecting toys and monetary donations until Saturday, December 12. Drop off unwrapped donations (toys, clothing) at the BIA office on Custer Drive.

The YMCA’s annual Reindeer Ramble, originally scheduled for Saturday, December 12 at Keeneland, is postponed until 2021.

Wednesday, December 16

The Lantern at Morning Pointe hosts a drive-thru Festival of Trees Holiday Extravaganza on Wednesday, December 16 at 5 pm.

Friday, December 18

Trans-Siberian Orchestra streams ‘Christmas Eve and Other Stories’ during a livestream event on Friday, December 18 at 8 pm.

Saturday, December 19

Mrs. Claus and her elves are stopping by Waveland Historic Site for a special Christmas tea on Saturday, December 19 at 11 am.

Sunday, December 20

“A Christmas Carol” is at Waveland State Historic Site on Sunday, December 20 at 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm, 8:30 pm.

Friday, December 25
