A new nonprofit is set to expand its borders into Lexington. What is the nonprofit? What are they about? Is it geared towards kids?
Box of Balloons in a nonprofit that was started in Madison, WI by Nicole Moll. It continues to expand and move across the country and is coming to Lexington. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization on a mission to make each birthday happy and every child celebrated.
The organization partners with community social workers to give birthday parties to children in need. Their core belief is that every child deserves to feel special and have a memorable birthday. To achieve this goal, Box of Balloons reaches out to local school social workers, community leaders, and organizations to identify children in need (up to age 12) who have upcoming birthdays and otherwise will not be celebrated.
Box of Balloons believes in empowering the parents or caregivers. The box is given to them so they can celebrate when and where it works for their family.
