Construction on Polo Club Blvd
Lexington officials have stated that construction on the long-delayed section of Polo Club Boulevard from Deer Haven Lane to Todds Road will begin in summer 2019. On November 1, the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled in favor of the city of Lexington regarding the lawsuit filed in 2015 over the land needed to complete this project. The section is less than a quarter mile long. Once completed, Polo Club Boulevard will connect Winchester Road to Man O’ War, and Man O’ War to Todds Road.
New Assisted Living Facility in Hamburg
According to public records, a new assisted living facility is being built off Polo Club Boulevard across from Costco and Cabela’s. The Polo Club at Hamburg Place will be a two story, 126,021 square foot building with 124 units, including independent living, assisted living, and state-of-the-art memory care.
Kentucky American Water Donates $10,000 to Fire and Rescue
Kentucky American Water has awarded grants totaling $10,000 to 20 Kentucky fire and rescue organizations in support for the departments’ year-round efforts to protect the communities they serve. Since the program began in 2011, Kentucky American Water has donated a total of $65,658 to the firefighting industry. These grants allowed firefighting organizations to purchase items such as fire hoses, communications equipment, a voltage detector, fire resistant gear, and other materials.
Apartment Complex in Hamburg Sells for $170,000 Per Unit
The newly constructed Waterstone Apartments at Man o War and Polo Club across from Costco sold for about $45 million. This is the third highest price paid for an apartment complex in Lexington behind Forty57 which shattered the record at $52 million six years ago, and The Racquet Club which sold for $51 million earlier this years. However, this appears to be a record for sale price per unit.
The 2018 assessment represents a partially completed value and January 1, 2019 will be the first assessment at full value.
