Celebrate the Twelve Days of Christmas with Jen Dunham’s Mixed Media Exhibit, on display at the Hamburg branch of the Lexington Public Library in November. For “The Twelve Days of Christmas” exhibit, Dunham has re-imagined each of the twelve days and used vintage library card catalog cards to help tell the story. Each piece is created in pen and ink, colored pencil, and soft pastels. Each drawing is created on six catalog cards leaving the information printed on the cards to show through the artwork and give “clues” to the subject matter of the drawings. Dunham asks, “Remember what it was like to go to the public library and search through the old card catalogs? Well those have long gone, but as a librarian, I felt an emotional connection to the cards. As an artist, I found a use for them!”
