SUNDAY NOV 5 <\/span><\/h2>\nCelebrate the Twelve Days of Christmas with Jen Dunham\u2019s Mixed Media Exhibit, on display at the Hamburg branch of the Lexington Public Library in November. For <\/span>“The Twelve Days of Christmas\u201d <\/b>exhibit, Dunham has re-imagined each of the twelve days and used vintage library card catalog cards to help tell the story. Each piece is created in pen and ink, colored pencil, and soft pastels. Each drawing is created on six catalog cards leaving the information printed on the cards to show through the artwork and give “clues” to the subject matter of the drawings. Dunham asks, \u201cRemember what it was like to go to the public library and search through the old card catalogs? Well those have long gone, but as a librarian, I felt an emotional connection to the cards. As an artist, I found a use for them!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This campaign offers Lexington a chance to help brighten the holidays for abused and neglected children in the local family court system. Attendees choose names of children from the CASA Angel Tree, and then purchase gifts from their wish lists. CASA volunteers deliver the gifts to the children’s caregivers in time for the holidays. <\/span><\/p>\n

Remember: never pour used cooking oil or grease down the drain. Bring it to the Toss. Last year, more than 500 gallons of cooking oil was collected from 106 participants.<\/span><\/p>\n
