Meet Dr. Amanda Finch
Richmond Road Vet’s newest doctor
University of Kentucky fans may recognize Dr. Amanda Finch from her three-year stint on UK’s Dance Team. She returns to her hometown of Lexington to join the team of doctors at Richmond Road Vet Clinic.
Finch’s first job was as a veterinary technician in Lexington. “Since I grew up in Lexington, it means the world to be back in Kentucky and learning from such wonderful doctors at this clinic,” says Dr. Amanda Finch.
“My favorite part about working at RRVC is the atmosphere. Everyone is so eager and willing to learn and work together to ensure the best quality medicine and care. It’s great to be here.”
Meet the Team
Dr. Kevin Smith is the owner of Richmond Road Vet. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, he moved to Auburn for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine before Lexington called him back. “Having attended the University of Kentucky and living in Lexington while earning my undergraduate degree, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to return to the place I considered home.”
Dr. Amanda Holaday grew up on a rural Kentucky farm, preparing for her dream job of being a veterinarian. “After graduating from Auburn, my top priority was to find a clinic that shared my core values. Richmond Road Veterinary Clinic has become my home. We all genuinely care about our clients’ pets. I want to be the one they lean on. This is not just a job where I punch in and punch out. This is my home, and our clients and their pets are part of that too.”
Dr. Keri Wynn thoroughly enjoys all aspects of practicing veterinary medicine, but has a special affinity for veterinary dentistry. Dental disease prevention and treatment represents a large portion of the practice’s focus, given the prevalence of periodontal disease in pets. She attended the University of Kentucky and Auburn, adding, “While I loved Alabama, I bleed blue, and my heart has always been in Kentucky.”
Dr. Heather Hancock is also a Lexington native and University of Kentucky alumnus. Living on 20 acres in Madison County, she and her husband founded and manage the Central Kentucky Wildlife Hospital where they treat sick and injured wildlife. “Professionally, I spend time researching alternative and holistic therapies that can also be helpful to ensuring your pet lives its best life. I will always treat my patients as one of my own.”
Richmond Road Vet Clinic’s sister clinic is Tates Creek Animal Hospital, home to Dr. Ashley Sullivan. A graduate of Tuskegee University of Veterinary Medicine, she’s proud to call Tates Creek her forever home. Richmond Road Vet Clinic and Tates Creek Animal Hospital are proud members of the Kentucky Veterinary Practice Group.
