Hole in One for Hamburg in Lexington

The PGA of America has announced Kelly Williams, PGA, General Manager of Greenbrier Golf & Country Club as the 2024 recipient of the Golf Executive of the Year award. This honor  was presented on November 5, 2024, during the PGA Annual Meeting awards ceremony held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The award recognizes outstanding services in an  executive management position, as well as leadership, vision, courage, moral character  and a substantial record of service to the  Association and the game.

Williams’s career reflects a dedication to growing the game of golf, continually championing player  development and professional growth for his PGA Professional peers. Williams started at the club as a  teenager, eventually working his way up to the general manager position in 2007. Under Williams’  leadership, the facility has seen more than $11M in assessment free improvements and membership  levels have grown. Through his service to the PGA of America golf has become more accessible and enjoyable for players of all levels, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere within the sport.

Reflecting on his journey, Williams said, “I’ve won the trifecta. I have incredible support at home, we have  an incredible team at Greenbrier, and the third part to my success is this Association. Those three things I think all together have been my trifecta. I’ve been successful because of that support, and a little bit lucky along the way.”
