The Division of Waste Management will adjust its collection schedule for the upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Residents who normally receive Monday pick-up from the division will be serviced on Wednesday, Jan. 21. No collection will be made on the holiday (Monday, Jan. 19). Residents who normally receive pick-up on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be serviced as usual.
Residents who normally receive Monday pick-up should place their Herbies, Rosies and Lennies out after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, to ensure collection the next day.
Businesses that have city waste management services for their dumpsters (landfill-bound and recycling) that normally receive pick-up on Mondays will have their units picked up on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Businesses normally having pickups on Tuesdays will have their units picked up on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Thursday and Friday pick-ups will be made as usual.
Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government offices, as well as the Lexington Recycling Center, the city’s Electronic Recycling Center and the Haley Pike Waste Management facility will be closed on the holiday.
