Mardi Gras is February 13, 2018. Here is a sampling of where you can feast and celebrate “Fat Tuesday” in Lexington, KY.
Bayou Bluegrass Catering is hosting their annual Mardi Gras celebration at Copper Roux on Friday, Feb 9 and Tuesday, Feb 13. Dinner will feature authentic Cajun-style cuisine with seating times at 5, 5:30, 7, and 7:30 pm.
Bourbon ‘n Toulouse on Euclid will open at 11 am for Mardi Gras and will serve alligator étouffée, King cake from Sunrise Bakery, a crawfish boil at 6:30 pm, and live music at Chevy Chase Inn next door.
Creaux hosts a Mardi Gras party from noon to midnight. A night filled with brass bands, jazz, a costume contest, and beads. They will be serving gumbo and king cake all night, along with happy hour prices on drinks.
Gumbo Ya Ya will open at 11 am on Mardi Gras and will feature varieties of étouffée like alligator or crawfish. Every purchase will include a complimentary slice of King cake and the lucky person who finds the baby in their slice will receive a coupon.
Proud Mary BBQ is celebrating Mardi Gras with a huge buffet, boiled crawfish, music from Shades of Grass and a Mardi Gras “King and Queen” contest. The party starts at 4 pm.
Ramsey’s flies in crawfish and also serves seafood gumbo, red beans and rice, and king cake. The lucky person who finds the baby receives a free meal.
Tiki Java on W Third offers a special Tiki Tuesday crawfish boil presented by Lady Remoulade starting at 4 pm. Followed by New Orleans-style music from the Robert Frahm Band at 6:30 pm.
West Sixth and Smithtown Seafood are offering Fat Tuesday lunch and dinner plate/a la carte specials starting at 11 am. Oysters, shrimp, gumbo, jambalaya, and king cake from Midway Bakery will be served. Vegan jambalaya is also available.
Willie’s Locally Known hosts their 6th annual Crawfish Boil starting at 10:30 am, with étouffée, king cake, and live music from Paul Luc at 8:30 pm.
Winchell’s on Southland will serve crawfish etoufee, fried oysters and crawfish, seafood jambalaya, blackened and fried catfish, king cake, and hurricanes. Opens at 11 am.
Windy Corner Market hosts a Mardi Gras celebration from Feb 9-13. They offer cajun specials like étouffée, shrimp & grits, po’ boys, blackened catfish, and gumbo. The Paw Paw Pickers will also be playing Bluegrass music from 6-8:30 pm on Fat Tuesday.
