In a Hoops, Horses, and HealthCare Economy, Lexington is adding another spoke to that wheel in Spring of 2024.

Baptist Health Hamburg’s rolling open, which will happen in phases, is underway at Polo Club Boulevard. The new 300,000+ sq ft campus is expected to be home to more than 300 employees, and the Nicholasville Rd Baptist Health location will remain open.

The Hamburg neighborhood forms the third point of Lexington’s suburban golden triangle of economic development (with the other two anchored by Nicholasville Road, and the Beaumont/Palomar Corridor along Harrodsburg Road).

Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton described the potential economic impact of the new campus in a May 2020 interview with the Hamburg Journal, “These are jobs with a future for hundreds of citizens. And for the City, this will create new revenue to continue to maintain a high quality of life that grows our economy and serves our citizens,”

Ground was broken in November of 2020 on the major outpatient surgery and medical campus at 2000 Polo Club Boulevard in Hamburg.

A major milestone in the construction of Baptist Health Hamburg was celebrated in June 2023 with the placing of a commemorative steel beam signed by Baptist Health staff.

Partners supporting the design and construction on the project include Congleton-Hacker Co., CMW Architects & Engineers, HKS Architects, and CMTA Consulting Engineering.
