“Glories of the Garden” is the annual juried art exhibit to celebrate the world of nature found in The Arboretum and beyond. Watercolors, charcoal, photographs, oils, quilts, sculptures, woodworking or any other type of artwork, inspired by nature, are welcome to be submitted.
Artists must submit a completed entry form along with a 4 X 6 photo only of their piece to be juried, limit of two pieces per artist. Each photo must be labeled on the back with your name and the title of the piece. Entry fee is $5 per artist, not per piece. Entry forms are due by Jan. 20.
Selected artwork will be displayed in the Dorotha Smith Oatts Visitor Center at The Arboretum from Feb. 13 through March 3. Accepted entrants will be announced Jan. 30.
The guidelines to be included are:
• Do not send original pieces to be juried; only labeled 4 x 6 photos of your piece(s)
• All accepted entries must be present the entire length of the exhibit. There can be no early removal of the pieces.
• Artwork must be picked up by 4 p.m., March 8. Artwork not picked up will become the property of The Arboretum without compensation to the artist.
• The artist agrees to pay 30 percent of their sale price to The Arboretum for the sale of their piece.
• All accepted entries must be suitable for hanging and must be submitted ready to hang with appropriate hardware. Failure to comply will result in the piece not being accepted.
• Juried selection is final.
