Family Practice Associates in Hamburg has been open throughout the COVID crisis to see patients either in person, or via telehealth to ensure that they are cared for.
As many know, Family Practice Associates’ founding physician, Dr. Jeffrey Foxx, contracted COVID-19 and is recovering.
He says, “Words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for the fantastic care and support that I received while recently being sick with COVID-19. There are so many people that I want to thank publicly including the fantastic team of doctors and nurses at Baptist Health Lexington who took excellent care of me, the other healthcare organizations who collaborated with my care, my colleagues and staff at FPA, and the countless friends and family who supported me with their prayers.” He is currently out of the hospital and recovering at home.
His team says, “The COVID-19 crisis has been hard on all of us. Dr. Foxx’s motto has always been ‘Do the Right Thing’ and that’s what FPA has been doing throughout this pandemic.”
Adaptation has been key: “practicing precautions recommended by the CDC including requiring patients and staff to wear masks, frequent cleaning and disinfecting, taking temperatures, etc.” Leveraging technology allows mobile check-in, texting with patients so they can wait in their car if preferred, and online scheduling for convenience and Telehealth visits.

Just pick your location, preferred provider and appointment type, such as annual exam, follow-up, lab, Medicare Annual Wellness. Most of our appointments can now be scheduled online. Many of our providers are scheduled far in advance for annual physicals due to COVID-19. If you have difficulty finding an available time with your preferred provider, we encourage you to check back frequently for additional time slots or schedule with another FPA provider for this year, so that your annual physical is not delayed. FPA UPDATE: In accordance with the Governor’s and Health Department’s guidelines, FPA providers are seeing patients in the office for certain conditions, as well as via Telehealth. Many acute illnesses and conditions should be seen in the office instead of Telehealth, but we are also able to see follow-ups for serious and chronic conditions in our office, including labs & refills. All patients coming into the office should wear their own cloth mask and limit to only 1 family member if necessary. We are also using mobile check-in and other protocols, such as waiting in your car, to minimize any risks. Our goals are to protect our staff & patients but also keep patients healthy and out of the hospitals and Emergency Rooms.
Highlight on new services: FPA’s Brannon Crossing office opened in Feb 2020, and is a great location for southern Fayette and Jessamine counties. Physical Therapy is also now offered at the Brannon location. Additionally, there is a new mental health provider, Dr. Latoya Lee, APRN, DNP, who practices at the Brannon location.
