Fayette County Public Schools announced their 2022-23 District Teachers of the Year at a special ceremony on May 16th. Congratulations to Hallie Piatt of Wellington Elementary and José Fedriani-Costa of Bryan Station Middle!

Piatt began teaching in 2014 after initially working in the banking industry. “I had always wanted to be a teacher,” said Piatt. “I love learning, and I love people. Building relationships is the best part of it. I just love seeing kids grow,” she said.

Fedriani-Costa joined FCPS five years ago after beginning his teaching career in Europe. “Education is a tool for our future. Every youngster deserves a chance to realize their potential, and education is the way for them to get the future they desire,” he said.
