Chick-fil-A plans to open a new location on Richmond Road on August 23, 2018. The new location began construction several months ago in the former location of Applebee’s in front of Southland Christian Church. 
This is the second Lexington location under the operator Roderick Long. He opened his first location, in Hamburg Place, in 2003. “I am excited to bring another Chick-fil-A to Lexington and have an opportunity to expand my community service outside my restaurant,” said Long in a statement announcing the grand opening.
In tradition with opening celebrations, Chick-fil-A has invited the Lexington community to participate in the First 100 Campout the day before the official grand opening. Hundreds of fans will gather outside the newest location to campout for a chance at winning one of 100 gift cards that is good for a year’s worth of free Chick-fil-A meals (one Chick-fil-A Sandwich Meal per week for a year – equating to 52 meals).
The First 100 Campout promotion was first offered 14 years ago, and has become a tradition at Chick-fil-A openings across the country. Over the years, the First 100 has become a great way for Chick-fil-A to introduce itself to the community and for neighbors to meet each other.

The Richmond Road location is Lexington’s eighth Chick-fil-A. Long’s nearly 4,800-square-foot restaurant has been designed to enhance all aspects of a guest’s experience from the drive-thru to the counter to in-restaurant dining. The vintage-inspired interior includes a dining room that seats 146 and a large community table made from reclaimed wood. It also features a two-lane drive-thru that merges into a single pick-up window with a door, as well as a covered canopy for walk-up ordering. These features are similar to the Hamburg Place location.
