Superintendent Names Chief of High Schools
Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent Manny Caulk announced that James McMillin, principal at Bryan Station High School, will join his cabinet as chief of high schools. As chief of high schools, McMillin will oversee the district’s six comprehensive high schools, three technical centers, 10 special programs, athletics, and other high school-related programming. McMillin, who has 15 years of experience in education, started his career as a biology teacher at Henry Clay High School. He served as an associate principal at Woodford County Middle School and Tates Creek Middle School before accepting the principal’s job at Bryan Station High School.
State Champions
Tates Creek High School boys baseball won the 2019 KHSAA State Championship.
Foundation donates $100,000 to FCPS
The PNC Foundation is awarding a $100,000 grant to Fayette County Public Schools, and a $50,000 grant to the Lexington Public Library to support preschool learners with community-based educational experiences for families with young children or professional learning and skill development for current or future early childhood educators.
Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year
Recent Henry Clay High School graduate, Langston Jackson, was just named the 2018-2019 Gatorade Kentucky Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year. This award recognizes student athletes with high academic achievement. Jackson plans to run track for the University of Kentucky.
