If you were sad to see Back Yard Burgers go, you’ll be happy to hear BurgerFi is opening in the former site according to public records.
In May 2018, Back Yard Burgers closed in Hamburg after posting a sign on the front door. Since then, the building has sat idle.
Similar to Back Yard Burgers, BurgerFi is an American fast casual restaurant chain focused on all-natural hamburgers, french fries, hot dogs, and custard.
There are two BurgerFi locations in Lexington, one on Avenue of Champions and another near the Fayette Mall at 141 Rojay Drive.
However, the existing BurgerFi location near the Fayette Mall will be closing temporarily and reopen next door in the former Johnny Carino’s Italian site at 135 Rojay Drive, which closed in July 2017.
