Many banks will remain open on New Year’s Eve; however, hours will vary from normal branch hours. New Year’s Day is a Federal Reserve Bank holiday, so banks are closed.
Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government offices are closed on New Year’s Day.
All Lexington Public Library locations close at 5 pm on New Year’s Eve and remain closed on New Year’s Day.
Lextran operates on a regular weekday schedule on New Year’s Eve, and a reduced Sunday schedule on New Year’s Day.
Post offices are open on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31. Post offices are closed New Year’s Day. All post offices are open and resume regular mail delivery on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
No trash collection on Friday, January 1, 2021 due to the New Year’s Day holiday. Make up day is Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

The Fresh Market is open until 8 pm on New Year’s Eve and from 9 am to 7 pm on New Year’s Day.
Lexington area Kroger locations are open on New Year’s Eve until 9 pm and reopen on New Year’s Day.
Sam’s Club is open until 6 pm on New Year’s Eve, closed on New Year’s Day.
Most Walmart locations are open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Where to eat and celebrate in the Hamburg area?
Cocktails Too is open on New Year’s Eve with live music from Kenny Owens & Group Therapy Ring.
Drake’s is open on New Year’s Eve from 11 am until 1 am at the Hamburg location. Open on New Year’s Day from 11 am until 1 am. Special NYE menu features three courses plus a toast to the new year with a glass of champagne or sparkling cider included.
Malone’s is open on New Year’s Eve and Day from 11 am until 10 pm.
