All in the Family

Rev Up with Your Neighbors at the new Paul Miller Mazda Showroom

JP Miller Jr., Owner and CEO of Paul Miller Motor Company, takes pride in a dealership “that takes the time and listens to the wants and needs of our clients,” with the goal of providing “100 percent client satisfaction.”

He adds, “we also believe in supporting our local community, which is why we regularly give back to organizations and initiatives that assist those in our area who need help. Some of the organizations we support include God’s Pantry, Lexington Humane Society, Lexington Cancer Foundation, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters and American Cancer Society. We’re proud to be part of the Lexington community.”

Describing the history of the family business, he says, “We date the beginning of the dealership to the time my grandfather came to Lexington.” After serving in World War II, the senior Miller sold cars for a Charleston dealership, rising through the ranks quickly. In 1953, he got the nod to help open a Ford dealership in Lexington, becoming president and general manager. He later purchased six acres at 975 New Circle Road, near the intersection with Winchester Road. He hired Lexington architect Helm Roberts to design the building and its unusual roofline. The building itself soon became an attraction. Paul E. Miller, founder of Paul Miller Ford, died in June of 2014 at the age of 92.

The Paul Miller Mazda Retail Evolution Experience

Last Spring, Paul Miller Mazda broke ground on a new building and Mazda showroom, located just down the street from its previous location, and recently opened the doors to the new space.

The new Paul Miller Mazda Retail Revolution plans to “transform your dealership experience.”

Miller says “Mazda makes some of the most dynamic automobiles that you’ll find on the road today,” adding that Mazda is “in the middle of revolutionizing our line of vehicles that will compete against the best the automotive industry has to offer in terms of performance, style, technology and comfort. We have an energetic, differentiated facility to display our vehicles in the Retail Evolution Program. But it’s time to kick it up a notch. The Mazda Brand is growing up, it’s time to rev up retail again.”

Customers arriving at the newly designed Paul Miller Mazda are greeted by a large bank of video screens drawing the customer into a bold open entryway where a concierge desk greets them and anchors the technology-enabled Customer Lounge.

The Showrooms have been divided into Studios which celebrate the vehicles. The signature vehicle lift is still positioned inside the Jewel Box.

The Customer Lounge remains centrally located and comfortable with quick access to the Showroom, Sales, and Service. Integrated technology keeps customers informed on service and wait times, along with providing entertainment. Additional amenities include snacks and beverage stations, comfortable chairs and access ports for personal electronics.

Miller adds, “It is important to make the connection between sales and service, so the function of Service Write-Up has been included. This acts to place the same emphasis on service as on sales which reinforces the fact that Mazda stands behind the products they sell and brings the customer back to the same space in which they bought their vehicle.”
