Kathy Love Named President of Saint Joseph East

Katherine S. Love, MHA, was named president of Saint Joseph East in November. Love joined Saint Joseph in 2013 as division director for outreach and real estate, and most recently served as vice president and chief strategy officer for CHI Saint Joseph Health.

“It is an honor to lead our ministry at Saint Joseph East and I am thrilled to be working with a great team and our excellent providers,” said Love. “Saint Joseph East has a great reputation and I look forward to continuing to grow our services across central Kentucky.”

In her most recent role at the ministry, Love provided executive leadership and also oversaw the development of a three-year strategic plan that resulted in $120 million capital commitment for future development across the health system. As the executive sponsor for oncology across the health system, Love negotiated and announced the clinical affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center for all CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Centers across Kentucky.

Before joining CHI Saint Joseph Health, Love served as chief executive officer of Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester and Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles. In her tenure with LifePoint Health, Love was named CEO of the year in 2011 and was recognized four times for her facilities attaining the Highest Overall Employee Satisfaction and three times for her facilities attaining the Highest Overall Patient Satisfaction.

A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Love earned a BBA in business administration and finance from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, and an MHA in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.

Love is a 2020 graduate of Leadership Kentucky, and a 2015 Bingham Fellow. She is chair of the board of directors for GreenHouse 17, and chair of the board of directors for Bluegrass Regional Imaging. She is also a member of the board of directors for Continuing Care Hospital at Saint Joseph Hospital, the MHA Advisory Committee for the University of Kentucky Department of Public Health, and the Kentucky Hospital Association CON Committee. Love also served as the 2021 Chair of Go Red for the American Heart Association.

Love and her husband Allen live in Lexington with their daughters, Virginia and Crosby, and their two dogs, Hatcher and Hamilton. The Loves spend their free time cheering for UK football and basketball and on the sidelines of their daughters’ soccer games.
