THURSDAY APRIL 1 

Lexington Humane Society’s Sip, Stay, BID virtual silent auction begins on Thursday, April1 and continues through April 8.

 

FRIDAY APRIL 2

Keeneland’s Spring Meet begins.

 

SATURDAY APRIL 3

Hamburg Pavillion hosts a Hamburg Easter Hop on Saturday, April 3 from 11 am until 2 pm.

 

SUNDAY APRIL 4

Easter Egg Hunt: cookies in the shape of eggs with colorful icing that says Hamburg Journal

HAPPY EASTER

Chenault Vineyards hosts an Easter Celebration on Sunday, April 4 at either noon or 2 pm.

Worship with Immanuel Baptist Church on Sunday, April 4. In-person sunrise services are at 7:15 am at each campus.Easter in-person services include: 8:30 am Tates Creek; 9:30 am Armstrong Mill; 10 am Tates Creek; 11 am Armstrong Mill; 11:15 am Tates Creek. FRIDAY APRIL 9

The Lexington Humane Society presents Tails & Ales on Friday, April 9. This annual beer tasting event is virtual for 2021.

As part of Reforest the Bluegrass at Home, free tree seedlings are available for Fayette County residents to pick up at partner locations around Lexington on April 9 through April 10. Other tree-pick up dates include April 16 through April 17, and April 23 through April 24.

The 2021 Central Kentucky Home & Garden Show is at Central Bank Center on Friday, April 9 through Sunday, April 11.

 

SATURDAY APRIL 10

Lexington offers Fayette County residents a free trash disposal day for non-hazardous household waste on Saturday, April 10 between 6 am and 1 pm at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station, located at 1505 Old Frankfort Pike. Fayette County residents may dispose of up to one pickup truck load of household waste. Bulky items, such as mattresses, furniture, and up to four tires off the rim, will be accepted at this event.

The first in-person planting event, in part with Reforest the Bluegrass at Home, is happening on Saturday, April 10. The next two in-person planting events take place on Saturday, April 17 and April 24. Groups must sign on prior to the event; available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The 6th annual Horse Capital Marathon & Half Marathon is Saturday, April 10 at The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall at 7 am.

Join Creative Lexington Youth for a livestream concert, Duets, on Saturday, April 10 at noon online at creativelexington.com. The concert is part of a series of concerts to benefit several non-profit organizations.

 

THURSDAY APRIL 15

The federal tax filing deadline has been extended from April 15 to May 17. Consult your tax professional as to how this shift might impact your tax return.

 

SATURDAY APRIL 17

A Free Mulch Giveaway is Saturday, April 17 from 8 am until noon at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike.

Immanuel Baptist Church hosts Woven: a woman’s leadership event with Alli Worthington on Saturday, April 17 at 9 am.

 

THURSDAY APRIL 22

The Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event is scheduled without spectators, April 22-25 at the Kentucky Horse Park.

 

FRIDAY APRIL 23 

The Central Kentucky Go Red for Women Digital Experience is Friday, April 23 at noon.

 

SATURDAY APRIL 24 

Lexington hosts a Paper Shred on Saturday, April 24 at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike from 9 am until 2 pm. Fayette County residents may bring up to five boxes or bags of material to be shredded at no cost.

Lexington Main Street Clean Sweep is happening on Saturday, April 24 at 1875 Newtown Pike from 10 am to 12:30 pm.

St. Luke United Methodist Church hosts a Parking Lot Picnic and Petting Zoo Free on Sunday, April 25 at noon, after the 11 am service. Drinks and a meat entree is provided, bring your own side dishes to share within your household. The petting zoo is on site until 1 pm and will feature ducks, a rabbit, sheep, goats, an alpaca, a mini cow, and a pony for pony rides (for up to 95lbs). Children will have the chance to feed the animals. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

 

THURSDAY APRIL 29

Disney On Ice presents Dream Big comes to Rupp Arena on April 29 through May 2.

 

FRIDAY APRIL 30

Kentucky Oaks Day, Churchill Downs, Louisville.

 

SATURDAY MAY 1

Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs, Louisville. Limited tickets are available for Saturday through Thursday of Derby Week. Seating capacity for the 2021 Kentucky Derby is. extremely limited
