Lexington’s seventh district councilmember, Preston Worley, who took office in 2017 after being appointed by then-Mayor Jim Gray, has announced he will not run for re-election in the 2024 Lexington Fayette Urban County Council race. He expressed thanks to his constituents, noting that he was “especially grateful to the people of Lexington’s 7th District for three times electing me.”
District 8 councilmember Fred Brown also announced that he will not seek re-election in 2024.
Boonedogs owner, Hilary Boone, is stepping into the race for 12th District. Kathy Plomin has held the seat since 2016 and is not eligible for re-election.
