Movie theaters continue to struggle to survive the pandemic and unfortunately, many won’t.
Regal Cinemas plans to suspend operations at all of its theaters in the United States in early October.
After shutting down in March for several months, theaters have attempted to reopen many times with new health and safety protocols; however, it is difficult for theaters to succeed when movies are delayed until 2021 and audiences simply do not show up.
There is no word on a possible reopening date, but theaters could stay closed until 2021.
The only Regal Cinemas location in Lexington is in Hamburg Pavilion.
