The Ronald McDonald House Charity is rolling out a new program for the kids. What is the new program? What should the families expect?

It is designed to make the wait time for medical appointments less exhaustive and give a little more support during the families difficult time.

“We are excited to partner with UK HealthCare to bring the very first RMHC Happy Wheels cart to Lexington. This initiative will provide additional comfort and support to children and families who are facing medical challenges,” said Jillian Pyatte, Family Room Manager at RMHC of the Bluegrass.

The Happy Wheels Cart is located in the Ronald McDonald Family Room on the fourth floor of the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am until 9 pm.

There is currently one cart, but a second cart from this new program is set to roll out soon at the UK Pediatric Specialty Clinic. Its purpose is to serve outpatient families that are experiencing long days of appointments and tests.

Local Lexington businesses Isenhour, Inc. and SpeedPro donated their time and services to create the two Happy Wheels Carts.
