Easter Programming

Easter is quickly approaching on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Below is a sampling of Easter events. All events subject to change, check with each individual business or establishment first.

 

EVENTS

Easter Egg-citment at Eckert’s on March 27, March 28, and April 3 at 10 am, featuring a tractor ride around the farm, planting a seed to take home, and a free photo scene with the Easter Bunny, and more activities.

Easter Egg Hunt: cookies in the shape of eggs with colorful icing that says Hamburg Journal

An Egg-citing Easter Fest is happening at Ft. Boonesborough State Park Campground in Richmond on Friday, March 26 through Sunday, March 28. The Easter fun includes an Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled times for games, a visit with the Easter Bunny, Easter Parade, crafts and more. A free continental breakfast is provided on Sunday morning.

Head to Wilmore for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3 on the grounds behind the Wilmore Municipal Center at 210 S. Lexington Ave.

An Easter cookie class takes place at Wildside Winery on Thursday, March 18 at 5:30 pm.

 

SERVICES

Worship with Immanuel Baptist Church on Sunday, April 4. In-person sunrise services are at 7:15 am at each campus.

Easter in-person services include:

  • 11 am Armstrong Mill
  • 11:15 am Tates Creek

Worship on Easter Sunday at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Service times: 8:20 am (traditional, in-person); 9:30 am (contemporary, in-person and online); 11:00 am (traditional, in-person and online at StLukeUMC.org/live, thru Facebook, or YouTube). There is a Swahili language service at 1 pm.

EASTER THEMED EATS

Easter with Dupree Catering + Events includes three different menu options to serve four, along with items available a la carte.

Drake’s & Harry’s locations are open normal business hours for lunch and dinner on Sunday, April 4. Walk-ins welcome, no reservations.

Joella’s Hot Chicken introduces unique “meatless” options for Lent with the return of Crispy Cod Sammie and the debut of the new Crispy Cod Plate for a limited time only through Easter on Sunday, April 4. Both options are prepared with any of Joella’s six famous heat levels including Southern (no heat), Spiked Honey, Ella’s Fav, Tweener, Hot, and Fire-In Da-Hole (so hot you need to sign a waiver!).

Malone’s is open for lunch & dinner on Sunday, April 4.

Selma’s Catering + Events is launching an Easter Breakfast Charcuterie.
